Introducing SwatchPAY!

Swatch PAY launchesThe payment function of SwatchPAY! is hidden; it has never been so easy to impress friends when it’s time to pay for a round of drinks.

How does it work? Hidden inside each model with the SwatchPAY! feature is a Near Field  Communication (NFC) chip that works in the same way as the ones in bank cards to enable contactless payments. The added benefit is that the NFC chip doesn’t drain the watch battery. Simply move the watch close to the payment terminal at the checkout counter, the terminal reader exchanges payment information with the chip, and that’s all there is to it!  Lost the watch? Don’t panic. Wearers can suspend or reactivate the payment function of the watch with a single tap on a smartphone or tablet using the SwatchPAY! app at any time. Like all other Swatch models, watches with SwatchPAY! are water-resistant to a depth of 30 metres.

"Never has contactless payment been this popular! We are all excited to launch SwatchPAY! in the UK," says Bernardo Tribolet, Swatch Head of Trendscouting. "Setting up your SwatchPAY! is simple, fast and does not come at any extra cost. Introducing this cool tokenised payment method, makes contactless secure and easier than ever. No need to activate the payment function separately or keep the watch within range of your connected smartphone. Activate your Swatch, swipe it and you’re done. SwatchPAY! is simple, stylish, safe and very Swatchy”.

The cool payment innovation is powered by Curve in the UK. "Curve is all about making money work on your terms and is delighted to be able to offer the convenience of watch payments to customers who want to wear traditional watches that fit 21st century expectations. Nothing could be a better pairing than Swatch's stylish designs and Curve's seamless technology," says Shachar Bialick, Founder and CEO of Curve.

#OOTD 117 World Cup Casual

Watching World Cup Football OOTD

Regardless of whether you like football or not, they'll be no escaping the World Cup when it starts in Russia shortly. I can't remember how many 'years of hurt' it is now, but, expectations aren't particularly high with regards to the England team. That doesn't mean that I don't care.

Settle down in front of the TV and start shouting, "Come on, England!"

#OOTD 106 SS18 Menswear Trends Vertical Stripes

Top menswear SS18 trends vertical stripes

TheChicGeek took a trip to sunny Marrakech to see the new YSL Museum - read more here - while there, he thought it rude not to show you one of the big trends of the 2018 season - Vertical Stripes.

Think 'stylish deckchair', designers such as Marni, Balmain, Etudes, Haider Ackermann, Paul Smith, Cerruti 1881 and Ami all did their vertical variations on the trend.

With the Jardin Marjorelle as the backdrop, bold vertical stripes are not only a statement, but they elongate the wearer. Don't be scared, you can clash them, as seen here, just make sure they're wide and colourful.

This is perfect for holiday wardrobes in both shorts and T-shirts, as well as shirts and trousers, as seen here on TheChicGeek.

#OOTD 60 - Lumber GEEK 4/4

the chic geek outdoor style lumber jackThe final part of his lumberjack series, TheChicGeek goes rogue and starts to resemble an axe wielding killer, albeit a stylish one.

Still scouting for the perfect Christmas tree, his masculine uniform of khaki parka, check shirt and waterproof Wellingtons makes him the best dressed in the forest.

Copy his look, but keep it simple, remember, you want to be able to see the wood for the trees!

#OOTD 58 - Lumber GEEK 2/4

The Chic Geek woodman lumberjack style ootdNever one to be shy about getting his chopper out, TheChicGeek is armed and dangerous in this lumberjack inspired OOTD.

Those towering pines don’t stand a chance with TheChicGeek in his classic black and red buffalo check. Legend has it this distinctive Scottish pattern, known for centuries as Rob Roy, was dubbed ‘Buffalo Check Plaid’ by American outdoor specialist Woolrich (circa 1850) in honour of the small herd of buffalo the designer owned in central Pennsylvania.
