Everybody loves tartan, well, they should do. The brighter the better in our books.
Bright tartans are nothing new, historically, the Victorians loved going bold with their family checks. Regardless of your clan, think strong clashing colours, especially in your outerwear and accessories.
And, you can always wear more than one at a time, just look at the Johnstons of Elgin 'Clash of the Clans' scarf below. The Gloverall Lochcarron coat is womenswear, but would fit and look good on anybody. Check it all out.

After writing my latest Comment piece - Handbags at Brawn? about men, now, carrying styles of bags traditionally associated with women, it has cemented my desire for one of Loewe’s Puzzle bags. I’ve looked at this style for ages and it just gets better. This is a modern classic and I want one.
We're going into a new age of grown-up dressing and quality, and Loewe, the Spanish luxury goods house owned by LVMH, still make some of the best quality bags. If only I could pronounce it!

It must be all that Flemish DNA because Dries van Noten mined a rich tapestry of ideas, quite literally, for this SS17 season. He said he was inspired by the British Pre-Raphaelites and their love of turning their art into woven wall hangings and this transfixed itself into quilted bombers, wide trousers and crocheted scarves.
Dries always does a good theme and is one of the best menswear designers there is. The shirt, here, will look great with shorts, a sort of renaissance Hawaiian shirt, and the wide trousers is part of the movement away from tight, slim trousers. This is classic Dries.
