Scally Summer Chic
Troubled times call for troubled fashion. The return of the skinhead has been spearheaded by designers such as Christopher Shannon and Rag and Bone. Christopher Shannon showed a scally summer chic look of slick sportswear with Reebok classics sans socks while Rag and Bone went classic skinhead with skinny braces and boots. This is a clean, smart look of buttoned up checked shirts, cropped hair and chunky boots; a wardrobe of fresh Fred Perry polo shirts and short sleeved Ben Shermans.
Skinheads were named for their close-cropped or shaven heads. They began life as a working-class subculture that originated in the U.K. in the late 1960’s, and then spread to other parts of the world. The first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian -specifically Jamaican - rude boys and British mods.
This look is neat and fresh and takes men's wear classics and subverts them into an edgier urban look. This contemporary skinhead is clean living without the swastikas and potty mouth. Only love, no hate!
