Movember - Grow a Tache for Charity in November

Print

Grow a tache like a maharaja for charity. TheChicGeek.co.uk has teamed up with Movember, which involves men growing moustaches throughout the month of November to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Are you more a Tom Selleck or an Ian Beale?

Every year nearly 35,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer.  Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer diagnosed in men; every hour at least one man dies from the disease in the UK alone.

If you would like to know more about the charity or become involved then simply click on one of the banners.

First Glimpses of Fashion Week

Print

London has been taken over by fashion this week. While the majority of London Fashion Week is women's wear, there are still pockets of men's wear within the women's shows and of course the big men's day on wednesday.

The first official show of the week was Paul Costelloe and we asked grooming expert Attracta Courtney, using Clinique Skin Supplies for Men, what the inspiration was behind the look of the guys.

"The look for the men at this season's show was inspired heavily by a bygone era of grooming for men. A dreamy look which was very finished, without there being an overuse of product. Think Brideshead Revisited, not Great Gatsby when it comes to use of product in the hair.

For the skin it was all about the preparation to create a high groomed finish. Exfoliation was key to bring the skin back to life and then product and moisturiser were used to create a matte looking finish."

Dramatically Different!

Selfridges London became the proud owner of a brand spanking new Clinique counter this week. Second only to Bloomingdales in New York, the counter is the latest flagship concept from Clinique. There is a new 'diagnostic' area with two way mirrors where you can turn up and have an individual consultation for all your grooming needs. Don't be afraid to ask questions or voice concerns as the dermalogically trained staff are there to help. They will even ring you a couple of days later to check on how you're doing.

The 90210 - The New Haircut

Print

Ask for the "90210" the next time you get your haircut. Named after the character Brandon Walsh from the hit 80's TV series Beverly Hills 90210, the look is very short and boxy on the sides and wavy on top. Seen around the trendster environs of Dalston and long sported by designer Henry Holland, the 90210 works well with a Denim jacket if you're going all out eighties. Below is Toni & Guy's version.
