Prism eyewear has just launched a range of sunglasses. The styles come in the same shapes and colours carried over from the optical range; with black or brown graded tinted lenses allowing the wearer increased visibility and a unique aesthetic. All lenses are made using Carl Zeiss technology and are within optical safety regulations. The frames are carved from blocks of acetate and finished by hand in the traditional method at a family-run factory in the North East of Italy, where glasses-making originated. The line is produced in limited numbers.
The inspiration for the line varies from 1950s and 60s vintage frames, to the clean lines of Mexico City’s Bauhaus architecture. Working in trends and fashion journalism, Prism Creative DirectorFfounder Anna Laub was inspired by street style from around the world hence the city names.
