Tailored Blazer?

Print

Chic Geek,
I'm looking at buying a tailored Blazer/jacket, essentially for casual and smart use but something I can wear with lots of different things. My influences in style are those like George Lamb, Sauvage etc, however, I'm also a big fan of Paul Smith.

I wanted something quite sharp and slim but something that would stand out in terms of fabric. Can you give me any ideas before I head down to a tailor?

Kind Regards

Hi Andrew,

I know you didn't specify a colour but I immediately thought navy. You'll get the most wear out of a navy jacket, it looks so good with white and colour during the warmer months. I've picked out three, all with different price points. Topman have a lovely slim jacket with a subtle texture at an amazing £65. Reiss are on trend with the white buttons which screams Riveria Chic and Burberry have the best smart/casual jacket of the season. Made from Silk/ Cotton Voile, the jacket would go with everything and the relaxed fabric will look great all season long. As for detailing, if you're having something made, Paul Smith put distressed silk on his lapels, add white buttons to make it contemporary and use de-structured construction and fabric cut slim. Double breasted can look good during the summer months but keep the fabric light as it could get hot as it looks best done up.
