Two New Paul Smith Collaborations

Print

Paul Smith has two new limited edition collaborations; one with cult Chinese Denim brand Indigo Farm and the other with 2 British artists who have created limited edition trainers.

With over 30 years of manufacturing experience, the highly coveted Indigo Farm denims represent a passion for products of quality fabrics and craftsmanship. Combining this with the ‘classic with a twist’ reputation of Paul Smith has produced a slim fit soft red selvege jean with an indigo rinse wash. Detailing to the jeans includes an internal woven Satin label with exclusive print for the collaboration and an external embroidered star. Each pair of jeans will be individually wrapped in a printed muslin Linen cloth and will retail from £175.

As for the trainers, the two artists are Jake Tilson and Dillwyn Smith.

Jake Tilson is an artist, graphic designer, publisher and author. He has produced magazines conceived as collaborative artworks, most notably ‘Cipher’ 1979-81 and ‘Atlas’ 1985-93, and was a pioneer of early website design in the 1980’s. Tilson’s most recent work, ‘A Net of Eels’, sees a collaboration with Japanese artist Kyoichi Tsuzuki at The Wapping Project to explore the cultural and culinary significance of the Eel in Japan and the UK.

Dillwyn Smith studied painting at Canterbury College of Art before attending the Royal College of Art where he gained an M.A and was awarded the prestigious Barclays Award for his graduation show. Smith has subsequently had several one man exhibitions, most notably 2005’s ‘Who’s afraid of Red Yellow Blue?’ at the Ingelby Gallery, Edinburgh and in 2007 he received The Bryan Robertson Trust Award.
