I popped into Harrods and saw the Thom Browne grey marl sweatshirt as featured in their Harrods Buyer's Guide and it got me thinking about this classic wardrobe staple. Timless, it conjures up images of Steve McQueen in The Great Escape or American jocks training at Ivy league universities. This is classic off-duty wear and everybody should have one. This is 'lounge' wear gone cool. The Thom Browne one is gorgeous, with his signature red, white and blue ribbon sewn around the inside and at £139 it's a piece of Thom Browne that is affordable. To look modern you need to wear it very fitted or slightly shrunken, a la Thom Browne and team with jeans or chinos like Steve.
