I recently had a heated discussion about wearing flip flops out to a bar, I think they look fine with a pair of shorts and t-shirt, my mate thought otherwise, just wondered what your opinion was?

Are you an Australian living in Clapham by any chance?! Flip-flops, regardless of brand, look too relaxed. They also make your feet look a little dirty. Flip-flops shouldn't be worn away from the beach or pool and if you're in a bar at night in town then never, I'm surprised you got let in! Try a pair of sandals or better still, this season's boat shoes are great with shorts, formal but not too formal and extremely comfortable.
