I was looking at a cashmere Aran sweater yesterday. It was handmade in Ireland, great pattern, traditional colour, it had a lot going for it, but, it just wasn't the right level of chunk. It need to be chunkier. Fashion is often about proportions and knitwear needs to play with its strengths. As always, and why I love the label so much, Prada is on the money in the level of chunk with its knitwear this season. Look at the baby blue jumper in the left of the new A/W advertising and you'll see what I mean. It has a nice thick neck, is not too long and has that hand/granny made quality which works so well with Prada's retro styling this season. Perfecto!
