Milan has set out its stall for Autumn/Winter 2011. It was a feast of skins and furs and plenty of new trends in between. When you start seeing minks and alligators on the catwalk you know you better start saving, it was as though the fashion houses were trying to out luxe each other. Here are the top menswear ideas that are coming out of Milan.
Oversized Coats - Coats went a few sizes bigger as volume was the order of the day at Prada, Burberry Prorsum and Gucci
Left - Prada
Big epaulettes - The oversized coat trend continued with exaggerated shoulder details.
Left - Bottega Veneta
All Going On At The Back - Business at the front, party at the back. It was all about the cinching details on the coats at Etro and Burberry Prorsum.

The Luxury Parka Continues - This was a big trend for A/W10 with the likes of Michael Kors, Paul Smith and Yves Salomon all doing great versions. Guys like the idea of a dress down coat with a luxury lining.
Left - Pringle of Scotland
Male Prince(ss) Coat - A feminine coat shape. High waisted with belting details. Loved the colour and pockets on this Moncler Gamme Bleu one. Also seen at Burberry Prorsum. It's the kind of coat little, rich boys wear.

Fur - Fur was everywhere. Keep it to embellishments, collars and linings.
Left - Burberry Prorsum - This was called 'Jaguar Mink' - looks part ermine part dalmation
Male Clutch - Where many have tried and failed, Gucci may have cracked it. The new Gucci clutch had a masculine handle and looked like a tote that had had the bottom cut off. The handle allows you to carry it in different ways, which has always been the downfall of the-bag-in-hand female looking clutch.
Role Reversal - New way to wear your knitwear, baggy cardigans over jackets.
