Life can be hard on the road, well, for David Beckham at least. Belstaff’s deep pockets announced Beckham as their face at London Fashion Week to the roar of motorbikes down Bond Street. Now the first image – above – has been revealed.
The Spring/Summer 14 campaign was photographed by Peter Lindbergh on location in Buckinghamshire. We’re not expecting to see Victoria on the back of that bike anytime soon.
Just as women have turned to the knife to boost their confidence, the same is happening with guys. Dr. Robert Viel of the London Centre for Aesthetic says he seen soaring demand for penoplasty – the procedure that increases penile length and girth. This procedure is said to significantly enhance penile size, both length and width, without effecting sexual performance or sensitivity.

“Now, I know some men – and women – will be amused at what they perceive as self-indulgence. But believe me, large numbers of men reading this will not be laughing – even taking their son swimming can caused heartache,’’ says Dr. Roberto Viel.
Last year, Dr. Roberto performed penoplasty on at least five men a week – a total of around 300 cases, an interesting statistic when you take into consideration that in the same period of time, nationally, just 323 men had a ‘moob job’ - male breast reduction.
How it works - To increase the length, an incision is made above the base of the penis. Through this we can release the penile suspensory ligament, thus allowing the penis to be brought forward, thereby lengthening it externally by typically 1-2 inches. Men with prominent pubic fat pads will gain more length; if for example they have a 2 inch fat pad, and 1.5 inches is removed, the additional 1.5 inch gain will be supplemental to the extension gained by releasing the suspensory ligament. This increase in length is in the flaccid position only and some men may find that the angle of the erection may be slightly lower. Many men have circumcision performed at the same time, as this avoids swelling of the foreskin, which can last for several weeks.
The increase in girth, involves a small amount of liposuction of the stomach or thigh areas to collect fat, followed by re-introduction of the fat by injection along the shaft of the penis. The usual increase in girth (circumference) is between 1 to 2 inches. The fat injection procedure avoids incision scars and because it is a simpler technique, the recovery time is shorter. Furthermore, the benefits of abdominal liposuction will enhance the patient’s appearance. Possible post-operative fat re-absorption and nodule formation can be minimised by limiting the amount of fat injected at one time. The girth enlargement is restricted to be slightly bigger than the tip. The enlargement of the penis will be evident in both the flaccid and erect states.

CG - Are the majority of guys' issues psychological or physical?
RV - For most, it is not a big physical problem: they simply feel self-conscious in the gym changing room or when wearing swimming trunks. They want the lengthening operation to make them feel more confident, although those opting for the girth enlargement can expect benefits for a partner too!
It’s clear this problem has been neglected by the medical profession for a long time, 80% my clients want an increase in both girth and length. The penoplasty can increase flaccid length by one to four inches and the circumference by about the same amount – but I won’t do anything unnatural. This can have a hugely beneficial effect on clients psychologically, as this is really all about the man and his own self-image and esteem.
CG - Does anybody come to you with unrealistic expectations?
RV - Yes, and we send them away. We are very realistic about what we can achieve that looks natural and will make sure a patient is completely aware of the results he will see, before committing to surgery.
CG - What influence do you think the images men are seeing today is having on how they feel about their penis and what they want done?
RV - We have seen a HUGE increase in Penoplasty. The media has the same influence on men’s as it does women, and since the David Beckham H&M campaign we have seen mammoth waiting lists for penoplasty in our clinics.
CG - What are the dangers, this is quite a delicate area?
RV - Like all operations, Penoplasty is not without complications, they are rare but can occur. These include infection, bleeding, collection of blood under the skin, known as haematoma or blood clot; however this occurs in less than 1% of patients and drains and heals spontaneously. In some cases with enlargement surgery the shaft may be asymmetrical or lumps may occur due to the position of the fat. Gentle massage should normally resolve this problem. There is no known effects to your bedroom performance. Your key organ is your brain and nobody can predict how you will react after surgery. We have, however, found that most men feel more confident about themselves. Penoplasty is now well established cosmetic procedure, having been performed for the last 10 years. It is both a safe and effective procedure and, with no foreign material or implants introduced, the complications are rare.
CG - Is there any follow-up procedures needed?
RV - The fat taken pre-operation is stored, so if there is fat absorption back into the body, fat is a natural substance so this does happen to a small 5 of the fat over time, you can pop in and be topped up! This is a quick procedure and works very effectively.
CG - If the fat is injected into the penis, does this mean the penis doesn't get full hard when erect?
RV - These procedures do not interfere with the normal functioning or sensitivity of the shaft.
What a few of Roberto's former patients had to say -
James Smith, 24, plumber, says "They took the fat from my stomach and used it to thicken my penis. It was red afterwards but not bruised. I walked away fro the clinic a few hours later hoping this was going to change my life. It was painful at first and I was told I couldn't have sex for two weeks but that wasn't a problem as I wasn't having sex anyway.
Left - Beckham's bulge is the reason many guys are going under the knife
"I was thrilled with the results and felt like a man for the first time in my life. No one had ever said I was small but I was also trying to measure up to other men. I'm an avid gym-goer but I always went home to shower as I was too shamed of my penis to let anyone else see it. Now, I'm happy getting changed in the changing rooms. I have to go back for the occasional top-up to make sure I stay in shape but my life has been changed. I've just started dating a wonderful girl. I've not told her about the op but I hope if things get a bit more serious and I decide to tell her. She'll understand."
Steven Cass, 42, says "Ask any man if he hasn't thought about the size of his manhood compared to other guys' penises in the changing rooms and I know what the answer will be. I never became depressed over the size of my penis, I just felt insecure getting changed in front of men. I also knew I was below average and thought having a bigger penis might be appreciated by my wife.
"I had the op - it took just over an hour. I was quite sore for several days, with some bruising around my groin. But I couldn't stop looking in the mirror - I'd gone from a 3cm flaccid penis to more than 5cm and the girth almost doubled. I felt completely different, like everything about me had changed, and it had a really positive knock-on effect on my confidence. I'd told Sarah - wife - I was having the op and, while she thought I was silly to take risks with surgery, she was really impressed. She said sex was better too but that might've been because I was more confident. It became more frequent and lasted longer. I told my best friend, who was genuinely amazed but he said he felt perfectly happy the way he was and wouldn't contemplate it.
"Two years on, the girth has reduced but it's still way bigger than before. I don't regret having it done and am only a bit annoyed with myself for not getting it done sooner. Of course you have to make sure you choose the right surgeon. If I'd felt they were being pushy, or the surgeon wasn't competent, I wouldn't have had it done."
Paul Hamilton, 30, social media manager, "I've always been self conscious about my looks and compared myself to men with large packages, such as David Beckham. Even though I felt good about my facial appearance and hair, there was one thing that really bothered me - and it was down below. As far as I was aware, it wasn't small but it wasn't big. I avoided getting changed in front of other men at the gym.
"Since having the procedure a year ago, I've met a lovely girl called Claire, who's 27. She's never commented on the size or shape of my penis but we have great sex. It's more intense than before my op and much more satisfying. Whether that's because I'm more confident or because the op means the fat in my penis restricts blood flow and intensifies it, I'm not sure. I have to go to the clinic every few months to have fat transferred but I don't mind. I think the fat should eventually stay put and I'll be left with a bigger manhood. No one knows I've had the op, not even Claire, but I've put my insecurities to bed."
TheChicGeek says "Guys are comparing their bodies with other guys, so it seems inevitable they would compare private parts. Now there is something relatively straightforward, affordable and practised on offer, it comes as no surprise that increasing numbers of guys are opting for this surgery in the quest for 'perfection'. They are citing David Beckham as an influence, but you only have to look at the amount of bulge enhancing underwear, the influence of pornography or society's attitude to bigger penises to see how this resonates down to guys on the smaller side on the spectrum.
"There is no such thing as a perfect size or penis, but guys are feeling more confident in themselves if it was bigger. This seems to be mostly a psychological issue and the theory that bigger is best. What's interesting is how many of these guys are keeping it a secret and not even telling their partners. While guys want a bigger penis they don't want others to know they are vain enough to undertake an operation."

It was Kate Moss who once said "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Well, take it from us, nothing feels as cold as skinny. Long-johns have become kinda cool and bonus, they also keep you warm. Along with the 'onesie' trend, skinny trousers and calling everything 'base layers' or 'loungewear', long-johns have, somehow, gone from granddad clothing to funky undergarment. Here are TheChicGeek's favourites of what's out there right now
David Beckham - Long-Johns - £19.99
Uniqlo - Stripe Long-Johns - £12.90
Under - Irving Long John Striped Waffle - £50
Topman - Navy Polka Dot Long John - £16
Sunspel - Thermal Long John - £45
American Apparel - Baby Rib Long Underwear - £24
There has been a lot of talk in the papers about the return of the Speedo, price comparison website Ciao says there has been a 400 per cent increase in searches for Speedo swimwear in the past six months, compared with the same time last year. This could just mean that Speedo wearers are looking for a bargain or simply that there is a small pool of indecisive Speedo fans searching all over the web. It was only last year that Alton Towers put a ban on them.
I'm a true believer in proportions in men's wear and the Speedo just doesn't work. Even on David Beckham here, who has the body, the proportions are all wrong. And another thing, people shouldn't be confronted by the outline of your genitalia, no matter how proud you are!, when they are trying to relax. Wear Speedos for speed in competitive swimming, for everywhere else it's the mid thigh short.

According to a recent report from West London waxing boutique STRIP, there has been a significant increase in male waxing over the past year. STRIP's latest statistics for 2009 show a large increase in all treatments but particularly the male Brazilian and Hollywood which increased by a massive 88%. STRIP Director Danielle Featherstone-Price says “We've had a 47% increase in male wa xing. The popularity of male intimate waxing is on the increase too and becoming part of a regular grooming treatment for many men.We find that it is often their partners who are booking their other half in for treatments, possibly due to 'the Ronaldo effect'. Customers are seeing these high profile ad. campaigns plus with the popularity of boy bands, they are aspiring to the trend for a buffed, hair-free physique."
Here are the stats. Full Back - 40% increase, Stomach - 55% increase, Chest - 64% increase and Brazilian and Hollywood waxes - 88% increase. As with women the Hollywood wax removes all pubic hair, Brazilian however leaves a strip (as wide or thin as you like) at the front.
There seems to be a big trend in male waxing, or manscaping as it has been labelled, recently. It used to be restricted to porn stars, gay guys and body builders but like all 'metrosexual' trends it has spread and is spreading. TheChicGeek's word on this is 'Tidy'. Tidy what you have and go with what you've got. If you are hairy then it will be a neverending task to keep it all under control and also hair in the right places on a man can be attractive, not to mention masculine. I understand that a Hollywood is cleaner, smells fresher - and can even make your manhood look larger! - but there is something strangely emasculating about not having any hair down there.

One of our ones to watch last year was 'Brand Beckham'. With Stella McCartney's husband, Alasdair Willis, on board we expected great things. We were a little surprised when the first tie-up was with Swedish mega-retailer H&M. And here we have the result. Not exactly rocket science, a plain white trunk, but at £9.99 and this guy behind it, it will sell by the hundreds of thousands. Expect to see Beckham's bulge on the back of a bus any day now.
Nine styles available. Out Feb. 2nd
Hi there geek, hope you can help, I loved the tie Becks wore on Jonathan Ross the other night, any idea where it's from or where I could get one just like it? Cheers Geek.
The tie was by Paul Smith as was the suit. Only the shoes and shirt were Beckham's own. It's new season and can be found in the Floral Street store, sorry, there wasn't an image. Paul Smith has a great selection, as always. I know it's nothing like it but I particularly like this leopard print tie at the moment, stylish fun.
