It was Kate Moss who once said "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Well, take it from us, nothing feels as cold as skinny. Long-johns have become kinda cool and bonus, they also keep you warm. Along with the 'onesie' trend, skinny trousers and calling everything 'base layers' or 'loungewear', long-johns have, somehow, gone from granddad clothing to funky undergarment. Speedo or not to Speedo?
There has been a lot of talk in the papers about the return of the Speedo, price comparison website Ciao says there has been a 400 per cent increase in searches for Speedo swimwear in the past six months, compared with the same time last year. This could just mean that Speedo wearers are looking for a bargain or simply that there is a small pool of indecisive Speedo fans searching all over the web. It was only last year that Alton Towers put a ban on them.
I'm a true believer in proportions in men's wear and the Speedo just doesn't work. Even on David Beckham here, who has the body, the proportions are all wrong. And another thing, people shouldn't be confronted by the outline of your genitalia, no matter how proud you are!, when they are trying to relax. Wear Speedos for speed in competitive swimming, for everywhere else it's the mid thigh short.

Brazilian or Hollywood? Sir
According to a recent report from West London waxing boutique STRIP, there has been a significant increase in male waxing over the past year. STRIP's latest statistics for 2009 show a large increase in all treatments but particularly the male Brazilian and Hollywood which increased by a massive 88%. STRIP Director Danielle Featherstone-Price says “We've had a 47% increase in male wa xing.The popularity of male intimate waxing is on the increase too and becoming part of a regular grooming treatment for many men.We find that it is often their partners who are booking their other half in for treatments, possibly due to 'the Ronaldo effect'. Customers are seeing these high profile ad. campaigns plus with the popularity of boy bands, they are aspiring to the trend for a buffed, hair-free physique."
Here are the stats. Full Back - 40% increase, Stomach - 55% increase, Chest - 64% increase and Brazilian and Hollywood waxes - 88% increase. As with women the Hollywood wax removes all pubic hair, Brazilian however leaves a strip (as wide or thin as you like) at the front.
There seems to be a big trend in male waxing, or manscaping as it has been labelled, recently. It used to be restricted to porn stars, gay guys and body builders but like all 'metrosexual' trends it has spread and is spreading. TheChicGeek's word on this is 'Tidy'. Tidy what you have and go with what you've got. If you are hairy then it will be a neverending task to keep it all under control and also hair in the right places on a man can be attractive, not to mention masculine. I understand that a Hollywood is cleaner, smells fresher - and can even make your manhood look larger! - but there is something strangely emasculating about not having any hair down there.

First Look - David Beckham Underwear
One of our ones to watch last year was 'Brand Beckham'. With Stella McCartney's husband, Alasdair Willis, on board we expected great things. We were a little surprised when the first tie-up was with Swedish mega-retailer H&M. And here we have the result. Not exactly rocket science, a plain white trunk, but at £9.99 and this guy behind it, it will sell by the hundreds of thousands. Expect to see Beckham's bulge on the back of a bus any day now.

Hi there geek, hope you can help, I loved the tie Becks wore on Jonathan Ross the other night, any idea where it's from or where I could get one just like it? Cheers Geek.
The tie was by Paul Smith as was the suit. Only the shoes and shirt were Beckham's own. It's new season and can be found in the Floral Street store, sorry, there wasn't an image. Paul Smith has a great selection, as always. I know it's nothing like it but I particularly like this leopard print tie at the moment, stylish fun.
