Milan - Spring 2011 - Alexander McQueen

Sarah Burton, the new creative director at Alexander McQueen has a hard task a head. She showed a small collection, and while nothing was bad, it's hard to know what to think. Without the name behind the brand, any collection will seem forced with a loss of integrity and vision. I know that he was one of the biggest designers bought in by department stores so it will be interesting to see what they do/think and whether they can keep up that momentum or which designers will take it's place and valuable shop floor space. McQueen was an unpredictable designer in a good way, you were always guaranteed something interesting and extremely well cut. The jury is out on this one.
