CK One, Eau D'Issey, Angel, Jean Paul Gaultier, the smells o f the Nineties resonated around Selfridges last night as they celebrated the launch of their new concept store. The Nineties are officially a vintage decade so dig out those back issues of Sky Magazine because they might be worth something. Alex James from Blur also popped in as a living exhibit. This is the first decade that many of us were teenagers or adults in so we can have a real say rather than the rose-tinted nostalgia that usually accompanies these things. The Nineties were a mixed bag. Grunge and minimalism, house music and indie, it was a decade in which Britain lead in fashion and art.
On a personal note TheChicGeek was
wearing Jigsaw Menswear - never been bettered on the high street - and Helmut Lang - bought on sale - reading Wallpaper* - the magazine of the decade and strutting around in my Patrick Cox shoes listening to Suede and Pulp.
