Matches welcomed the new collection from A.Sauvage, pronounced in the French way - his parents are from the Ivory Coast don't you know!, last night by throwing a soireé in their Marylebone store. This is 'young' grown-up clothes and it's not often for a collection that you can say that you could wear the whole lot but with this one you can. Classic yet contemporary, I know we hear that all the time, but this time it's true. The lapels are generous and the cut is quality. I loved the camel cashmere jacket they had in the window but at £1300 it's quite the investment. A.Sauvage will sit well along side Matches' other young tailoring brands, RAKE and E Tautz.
