Male fashion models have always bended towards the slightly effeminate; pale, tall and slender creatures, they usually waif down the international catwalks looking like boys playing dress-up.

Putting the cat amongst the fashion pigeons this season was Bosnian-born, Melbourne-based male model Andrej Pejic is so feminine looking he makes David Gandy look like a neanderthal. This gender-bending dude has captured the imagination of a world that loves a beautiful freak.He doesn't just look like a women, but a very beautiful woman. A supermodel to give Linda, Christy and Naomi a run for their money. His blonde mane framing his bone-structure and with stats of 6ft2" and 30' waist making any supermodel proud. At the recent Paris shows, where he walked for Paul Smith and Jean Paul Gaultier, people had to double take to see if he was a man, as often designers intersperse their menswear with womenswear looks.

A major trend? The new male ideal? Transexuals in the advertising at Givenchy, Kate Moss doing her best lesbian on the cover of LOVE magazine, Vivienne Westwood putting lipstick on her male models, we haven't seen this amount of androgyny since the launch of CK One in the early 90s.
