TheChicGeek goes behind the scenes of the latest Versace Spring/Summer 12 advertising campaign. Versace is having something of a 'moment' right now, what with the sell-out response to its collaboration with H&M to the enthusiastic praise of this collection during the last Milan men's fashion week. We got the lowdown from male model Ryan Barrett, - left - the star of the latest advertising campaign, about the shoot
Where was it shot? The shoot was shot around an amazing swimming pool in sunny Palm Springs, Borrego Springs, CA.
When? A 3 day shoot in the second week of November 2011.
Who is the photographer/s? The amazing and talented Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Who was the stylist/s? For Versace Jeans (which I also shot) and women's campaign, stylist: Joe Mckenna. For the Versace Men's Main line, stylist: David Bradshaw.
What was Gisele like? Gisele had an amazing presence about her on set. She was very professional and a stunning model, she really brought the collection to another level which then put some pressure on me to step up to the same level.
Did you enjoy wearing the clothes? I had previously worn some of the garments before in the show late this year in Milan. The clothes were in good hands with David Bradshaw's expertise and the suits fitted like a glove, there is nothing smarter than a man in a perfectly fitted suit, and the Versace collection fabrics felt so luxurious.
Did they let you keep the clothes? I havent yet got my hands on a Versace suit, but i have several pairs of Versace underwear in my drawer at home.
Most memorable moment on the shoot? There was so many moments of the shoot where i thought 'wow' this is really happening, from the first Jeans picture when Donatella was extremely pleased with the look to the last picture of the shoot when everyone cheered with celebration. I think the whole shoot was a mixture of a great team and great clothes and of course Gisele.
