When we say 'Hawaiian', what we mean is any brightly or boldly pattened, short-sleeved shirt. Menswear is awash with strongly coloured and pattern choices this season which can all seem a little daunting at first. Don't worry, TheChicGeek is here to show you how to wear with style.
ADD A DOUBLE BREASTED BLAZER
This reduces the visual impact of the print. The high break on a double breasted jacket limits the amount of shirt visible. It's a teasing glimpse of something unexpected and fun. No pocket square, - these are becoming too ubiquitous - too fussy and the focus should be just under your neck and then up to your face.
ASOS - Karmakula Trinidad Blue Hawaiian Shirt - £32
Reiss - Wilkes B Blue Double Breasted Blazer - £245

Topman - TMD Stone Stripe Double Breasted Suit Jacket - £240
ASOS - Slim Fit Blazer in Canvas - £75
ADD A SILK SCARF
Casually sling it inside, around the back of the neck, as styled on Michael Pitt in the Prada campaign. A super light, silk scarf, almost becomes weightless but adds a chic and almost retro quality to what is usually considered a casual shirt. Also roll the sleeves so you don't have that undesirable triangle if your arms are smaller.
Prada - Patterned Short-Sleeve Shirt - £275
Fred Perry - Miniature Laurel Print Silk Scarf - £50
ADD A WHITE VEST
By putting a white vest underneath, you add a clean colour break and also it highlights a Summer tan. This again has a retro, Italian gangster touch and when unbuttoned, as seen in this DS Dundee picture, it's sexy without revealing too much skin. Again roll the sleeves as above.
