World leaders do not wear enough head gear. One exception though is Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai. You'll never see him without his Karakul hat.
His Persian lamb or astrakhan hat is an expensive statesman-like statement. The beautiful curly fur is very expensive and is often only used in trimmings and accessories.
The karakul is the perfect chic winter hat, it looks great with a formal coat and frames the face. Prada always do great versions and it was also seen on the catwalk at Thom Browne. James Lock & Co have a good imitation version below.
